Tea Party Protests Sweep the Country: But What’s the Message? (Updated)
#81 Seerek . . . Altruism is your problem. You’re stuck on symbols. You’d rather nance around whining about flag pins than actually do something about, oh, I don’t know, Walter Reed Hospital. You’d rather fight the War on Christmas than the war on poverty. Why? Because you don’t have to do anything but act offended. That’s your legal tender on the right, being offended. You sacrificed nothing. You risked nothing. You suffered nothing other than having your civil rights and the Constitution burned at the alter of expanding executive power. (Good decision, that one. Thanks. We’ll take it and run with it.) And they did it with your help, but without your knowledge The sorry part is, you dragged down the rest of us too. There is nothing benevolent about your opinions or the philosophy espoused on this board. You’re brand of self-righteous certainty is the bane of all civilized societies . . . the very root of failure and doubt and thievery and injustice as an existential truth.
In other words, we’d all be better off if you concentrated on that Yahtzee sheet in front of you. We’ll do the hard work to return this country to greatness. You’ve done plenty already, no really, sit down. Take a rest, You deserve it . . . almost as much as we do.
