Fortunately, here in the U.S., we have a fundamental right to self defense, up to and including the right to keep and bear arms (at least for now). This right should be universal, yet many in Europe balk at this idea, and that’s a serious flaw in philosophy. The next time some young Muslim thug pulls a knife on someone who is gay, the thug should understand fully that he will he shot. This is the old “freedom is not free” scenario; all free people must be willing to fight and prevail over those who attempt tyranny, and unfortunately the fighting necessary is vile, ugly, and brutal. There is just no avoiding the fight but for surrender.
