as if: You’re being naive. Having lived through the Rodney King riots in LA, I can tell you the saying “at any time, anarchy is only three days away” is true.
vivo…Who thought the best police force in the country would fold, leaving civilians to fend for themselves? No one even answered 911 for several days until the governor finally sent in the National Guard. The grocery stores that weren’t looted had NOTHING on the shelves. If you don’t want to own a gun, no one is going to make you have one. All the other law abiding, tax paying citizens just want to mind their own business — why do you insist on diminishing others rights? People do have a right to protect themselves and for many, a gun is an equalizer of force.
As for being prepared, I’m expecting dozens of unprepared, families just like yours who are laughing at me now to show up at my doorstep during the next emergency, after the banks close and the neighborhood grocery is stripped clean. It happens. I’ve lived through it in the second largest city in the USA and the trigger was a trial verdict, not a global economic wipe out.
