I spent 3 months in India in 2009/10: out of the 14 Third World countries I have spent 7 years in, it was the filthiest. At Varanasi, the holiest city in India, people threw garbage in the “holy” river like it was a 55 gallon drum and one takes one’s health into one’s hand to bathe in it.
I too find the idea of no religious wars or empires predating Christianity laughable and wonder what you use for a brain. Happily I find myself not included in your “we.” If Hindus never colonized then why is Bali Hindu and why was Java Hindu?
If you read Bernal Diaz you’ll find him describe a quite deadly arsenal in Montezuma’s possession and that they were steeped in religion, including human sacrifice and also slavery.
