Tariq Ramadan-Supporter Diana Eck Leads the Charge Against Fired ‘Islamophobic’ Professor
Just for the sake of truth and balance…
It appears that the dismissed professor, Subramanian Swamy, is just as big of an intolerant bigot as his detractor, Professor Eck–as well as the radical Islamists he so ironically criticizes.
Professor Swamy is a radical Hindu. He advocates “Hinduist” policies in India which would be nearly as oppressive as the typical Islamist sharia state (forced obeisance to Hinduism, outlawing of conversions from Hinduism, etc.)
For those who are not aware of this: In India, HINDU terrorism is almost as big a problem as Islamic terrorism. Christians are often the victims of acid-in-the-face attacks by Hindus. Another favorite attack method of Hindus has been to douse Christians with gasoline and burn them alive. The only reason the West is not more familiar with this problem is because Hindu terrorism is almost completely confined to India.
It appears that this may be a case where neither party is worthy of our sympathy, and both of our condemnation.
