Driven a Ford Lately? Not if You’re Boycotting

In the end, public companies should not get into politics. If they do, then they should not be surprised when people stop buying their products. There is no way to please everyone. So stay out of politics. Easy enough!

The said thing is that lots of Christians work for these companies and they company doesn’t seem to care much about their position. Just how many people on the board of Ford are gay? It’s probably more than a few. So they are using the company to promote their own agenda. I don’t believe that is wise for a public company to do.

I own two Fords and tend to purchase new one every 2 years or so, once they reach 3 to 4 years old. So I am always looking to purchase the next vehicle. I have owned over 30-cars, which is just about 1 per year and I’ve owned everything from a 4-door sedan to a two-door Porsche. But time and time again I return to Ford. I have owned 3 Expeditions and 2 Explorers. I currently own an Explorer and an Expedition. I need to trade in the Expedition because it’s at 85,000 miles. I would normally be out there looking for a new one, but not know. I have decided NOT to buy another one for awhile and if I do, it will be a used vehicle from a non-Ford dealer.

I cannot bring myself to purchase from this company knowing what I now know about what they do with the profits they make from me. So no more profits from me for Ford.

Other than gas-mileage, I have never had any significant problems with any of the Fords I own. But then again, I have never really had any problems from any of the cars I’ve owned. Even the Porsche ran great and got over 26-mpg.

So Ford can count two more SUV’s on their list of lost sales. Since each cost about $40K to 50K new, that’s just a hair under $100K from just me alone. 10 people doing the same as me and that’s $1M in sales… 1,000 and that’s $100M in sales. 6,000 of me and we are at the numbers they are looking at losing. Just going back through the postings here and we could add up at least 100 vehicles that they lost due to the AFA boycott. That’s about $5M in sales just with the few people that listed here.

So I think the AFA could be pretty effective when it comes down to it. If they really do notify 3.2 million people and most people share the information with a few people, I know I have, then it’s reasonable to assume that 50,000 sales might be lost.
