No, I don’t think that he will bypass the election. What he is doing is getting a 2008 supporter, Peter Ackerman, to set up this bogus “America Elects” organization to run a third party candidate designed to siphon off enough of the anti-Obama vote to throw the election to him. Something like what Ross Perot did to Bush 41 so that Clinton was elected with a plurality. He’s hoping that enough of the independents will cast a protest vote for the third party rather than for the Republican nominee because that’s the only way that he can win with 42-44% of the popular vote.
Call me cynical, but I have been over 90% right in predicting what this fascistic president would do. And he’s going to keep using “executive authority” in increasingly egregious ways until there is a successful legal or political challenge to him.
