Oh, and #67 got this one exactly right: ragging on Obama will get you nowhere.
The fact is, the GOP congress of the past 8 years was a disaster, straying from every single core principal the Republicans have. And W did not seem to even know he had the veto power – or at least was too cozy with the corrupt Republicans in Congress to ever use it. And the whole time the GOP intelligentsia (if that term can be used) mostly defended, rather than holding their feet to the fire.
In foreign policy Obama has, thus far, changed nothing from the Bush administration. But now that the media project on Iraq and Afghanistan has served its purpose, they have an. . . uh. . . more ‘nuanced’ view of the war on terror. Yes, the WOT, as Panetta just confirmed, is still going on. Now Obama is leading it, but without any of the nasty CIA and State leaks and vicious minute-by-minute media slandering that Bush had to deal with while he was WOTCIC (I think I just coined that).
