I think you give AG Holder too much credit.

Your conclusion, that his comments might provoke a genuine discussion about the real discrimination demonstrated in the name of diversity, would be anathema to Holder and others of his ilk.

When I have discussed this with the few minority friends and colleagues with whom I feel comfortable with such discussions, they rally don’t mind that diversity, AA, and other efforts might result in reverse discrimination.

They’ll first offer objections to that characterization, of course, and only grudgingly accept that when some gets preferential treatment, others are discriminated against.

But always, they end up the discussion with a shrug, and suggest that we’d need many generations of that kind of discrimination to make up for what minorities used to suffer.

Call it Reparation by Discrimination. And beneficiaries like Obama and Holder know how the game is played.
