My first new Ford was a 1967 Mustang fastback w/289 4brl carb, 4 on the floor and a 390 posi rear. Black with a white interior. In the mid 80′s my wife thought the Bronco II’s were cute, well all right a win win situation. We had an ’87 and an ’89 and moved into Explorers when they came along, still have the ’97 Eddie Baur and the last new one was a 2006 Eddie Baur a great improvement except for some bad interior ergonomics. I was a buy American type and I preferred Fords.

Some years ago there was an incident at a parking lot owned by an auto workers union that denied parking to military that used the lot when fulfilling training commitments because of a political bumper sticker. That shook my foundation for buying American but sometime later when we sold our second car, a Ford Escort, we replaced it with a 2006 Explorer on lease. Then this PC crap from Ford, that was it, we are now driving a 2008 Toyota Highlander Limited.

Syonara Ford.
