I am a Christian who has been receiving AFA e-mail newsletters for the past few years more for their entertainment value than because they should be taken seriously. Every once in awhile they will point out something worthwhile, but generally they’re just laughable. This boycott of theirs has probably influenced the sale of Fords, but I think Ford (and most American car manufacturers) have been going seriously downhill for awhile. Sadly enough, foreign made cars just seem to hold up better overall. Now, it is worth mentioning that I actually drive a ’96 Ford Taurus and love it to death. If Ford really wants to get back in the game then I suggest they do two things. Firstly, they need to make their cars more reliable. Secondly, they need to catch up in the environmental game and make cars that go farther on less gas and, eventually, renewable energy. For my next car I’m looking squarely at Honda’s Clarity fuel-cell car (which will probably be only available in the LA area, nowhere near central Indy), the Prius, and any other small hybrids out at that time. Oh, and its worth mentioning that I drive a ’96 Ford Taurus right now and love it.
