Eric Holder Should Be Careful of What He Wishes For

Over 20 years ago as a college student I applied for a summer job in my city. I interviewed twice and had an overall positive experience. However, I was subsequently informed that my hire was being delayed because the job in question was earmarked for an “affirmative action” candidate. Ultimately, there were no “affirmative action candidates” that minimally met the job qualifications. I got the job but could not start work until July, whereas I could have otherwise have been a productive employee for several weeks.

Since that time I have been militantly opposed to any racial preferance consideration in employment whether under the rubric of “affirmative action” or set-asides or what-have-you. A minority has just achieved the highest office in the land. “Affirmative action” is obsolete and should be killed off mercilessly.
