RE: Experience?
I’m curious, Steve P, do you have to experience something personally to understand it? — Terry Gain and Steve P
My brother-in-law is an Iranian. I’ve served with Muslims. I’ve trained with them at levels just under God.
What, specifically, is your question?

P.S. Perhaps personal experience DOES provide additional expertise in an area. Maybe it has something to do with reality as opposed to supposition.
Personally, I would suggest that a personal experience with something significant makes someone a tad more of an ‘expert’ in that than someone who has never had such an ‘expreience’.
