At least in the university setting in the U.S., you have to be really, really careful what you say, how you refer to different groups, etc. While it can feel like a limiting of one’s freedom of speech, it does create a society in which we attempt to be careful of how we relate to others.”"”"”"

You can get busted in Britain for expressing “hate speech.” Our campus policies are a harbinger of the same thing happening in the U.S. in the near future.
