It is my understanding that, technically, it is not a martini unless vermouth is involved.
I would suggest the following alteration to the directions given: “Fill your cocktail shaker with ice, and pour three or so ounces of Grey Goose Citroen vodka over it. Pick up a bottle of vermouth, wave it in the direction of the shaker without opening it, and put it back down. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.”
That should dramatically enhance the pleasure of those traditionalists among us.
