The Vatican is a museum that houses great art for all the world to visit and view, a Church big enough for huge crowds of pilgrims (kind of like Rev Graham going into ball parks and stadiums?) and offices for managing many areas of both city-state and church. It was built over long centuries through gifts given to the Church with the intent that it be used always for the Church. Its an ancient family home, not simply real estate.
It is quite obnoxious that you would nastily equate the whole Clergy with pedophiles. And last I heard, those few who were guilty of molesting boys were the ones who refused to follow the ancient moral Teachings and Traditions upheld in Church teaching (in the Scriptures, you know, the Church that assembled it and kept it for you to use now?) The teachings you don’t think the Church has the right to dictate to anyone…..
Erm- which “rights” of women are suppressed? I haven’t been suppressed lately so I was just wondering which ones you meant. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’ve never been to a parish that makes me sit in back or behind a screen.
Yes the Catholics ‘worship’ the Pope much like Protestants ‘worship’ Billy Graham. Actually, we worship Jesus Christ as well you know and pretend not to. You are very intellectually dishonest if you had ‘grown up’ Catholic.
