I am from New Hampshire and have voted for Judd Gregg for every public position he has ever held. He has never lost an election. He is his own man, independent, thoughtful and decisive. I listened to his press conference live on local radio. It was clear that there were major obstacles to his being able to be who he is and do justice to position as Commerce Secretary. He was very gracious in his statements. In the end Judd realized that he would have to sacrifice his fierce independence and hold allegience to President Obama’s way of running the Commerce Department. As he said he realized that for the past thirty years of public service he didn’t compromise his personal integrity and he can’t do so now. He made the right choice.
