Why should so much credence be given to these open primaries? Fred’s and Mitt’s true strength needs to be gauged in the closed primaries, then we’ll see the real frontrunners. Can’t win either the nomination (hopefully) or the general without the base first. After the nomination, one can then determine whether positions on the issues (read no selling of one’s soul) will attract some of the “jellos.”
