Is the Law Finally Closing in on John Murtha?

It’s worse than that. Remember the Truman Committee in WWII?

Corruption does not just mean wasted money; it means lack of oversight, and, in many cases, failure to get the job done. If money is funneled directly to the people who help a Congressman get elected, regardless of merit, then occasionally they will produce substandard goods — for the troops, during wartime.

We have not yet heard stories about soldiers killed in the field, attributable directly to Congressman Murtha and his pork-laden appropriations. I pray we will not. But if he’s as corrupt as he seems to be, such stories will come out eventually; it’s just a matter of time.
