How often does a politician claim to be “morally responsible” for an utterly racist screed printed in his name? Ron Paul did. He didn’t “blithely” shrug it off. He stated the facts and accepted moral responsibility for what was published. You can criticize his politics all you like, those are fair points for contention. But I’ve never read anything that leads me to believe Ron Paul approaches racism. How many other politicians decry the disgusting groupthink of bigotry? If you want to criticize Ron Paul, criticize him on policy. But it’s intellectually and morally unfair to continually harp on this issue that he has explained, for which he has apologized and accepted responsibility. Except for a few bad apples, his supporters are people who demand recognition of the rights and liberties intrinsic to being a human, not a member of a race.
Shoddy work, Mike.
P.S. – Trust me, being a libertarian hardly confers an aura of legitimacy.
P.P.S -
“You people are in some very exclusive company in history. Many of the best of the Nazi tools of the 3rd Reich come to mind…”
…so, B. Dub, you’ve lost the argument already.
