“Bush so enjoyed flying fighter jets that he fulfilled the minimum total flight hours requirement of 300 hours (50 per year) in the first 3 years of his six year stint with TANG. He did not leave early but flew only 50 hours each of his last two years. He volunteered to serve in Vietnam.”

..Terry, if the slimy, slag-throwing trolls come after your assertions about Bush’s service claiming that he only served five-and-change years of a six-year obligation, you can tell them that, in 1974, GWB asked for and received an early out by the USAF/TNG. Around that time frame, many in the USAF were being given early outs to pursure — among other things — advanced college degrees. This was due to the draw-down in Viet Nam and the returning of many with regular commissions from overseas.

I was a contemporary of Bush (USAF officer during the Viet Nam war) in a critical ASFSC at SAC headquarters and was granted an early out to make room for guys returning from Guam, etc.

But, then again, these trolls wouldn’t know that because they have only heard the distortions from the left and do not care to understand the terms of service for those who serve(d) in the military reserves.
