Yes, it was clear to me that Canada sent troops to Vietnam in 50′s during partition for the purpose of Geneva enforcement. However, there actually were Canadian Troops on the ground in Vietnam, literally, for whatever purpose. You’ve presented only your rendition of what Ann C. said in an interview, giving no citation that can be checked for her exact words. Your argument is built around your own say-so: not acceptable or persuasive. Citation please.

You are, of course, free to make your own spin or to not ‘get’ her humor. Plenty of people do and don’t, the former & latter respectively. Was she being ironic? Without verifiable information further discussion seems pointless.

I submit that better minds than mine or yours crawl all over her stuff regularly looking for factual errors. As a trained attorney with a history of baiting jackal pursuers just for fun, she knows to make the basis of her arguments watertight. I find her treatment of politics and ideology as a blood-sport vastly amusing. Perhaps that’s the difference between her defenders & her detractors.
