I find it enlightening that so many Pro-Paul commenters claim the quotes are lies and that “Dr. Paul would never utter such nonsense,” while so many other Pro-Paul commenters say they don’t see what’s wrong with the quotes; they agree with them and anything else Paul authored (and/or sponsored) from those newsletters. So I guess to a Paul supporter, this article only confirms or even strengthens that support, regardless of whether one believes the quotes are true or false! That is simply amazing!

Coincidently, this dynamic is typical in conspiracy-theory circles: Any “evidence” that purports to show a given conspiracy theory is true is hailed as proof-positive and assimilated forever into the dogma of said conspiracy theory — while any “evidence” that purports to show a conspiracy theory is false is also hailed as proof-positive because we all know that the “powers-that-be” always lie and cover-up, therefore if it says it’s false it MUST be true, and vice-versa. In this manner, conspiracy theories are practically invulnerable to facts.

(This is unfortunate, since if there are any true conspiracy theories, how can one know? Conspiracy buffs undermine their own credibility all the time with this highly selective approach to gathering “facts.”)
