I’m not going to parse Newt on the basis of past actions or behaviors.
I’m giving him some leeway. I listened closely last night to his defense of the work he did for Freddie Mac, as a private citizen.
Which does differ sharply from “the work” insider morons like Dodd and Frank did on behalf of propping up crazy and worthless Fan and Fred, which morphed into things like upping credit ratings (temporarily) just for purposes of making ridiculous home loans.
In the interests of his wide understanding of our history and our founding principles and in the interests of not being bored to death for another 4 years, I’m cutting Newt some slack.
