Australia is next. I spoke to a Socialist Alliance supporter marching against Israel and inquired about the nature of their Islamist allies and the incongruity of a supposedly atheist organisation making common cause with aspiring theocrats. He justified their alliance by saying that Islam was the only global power taking the fight to America, and that Islam is more progressive than it is given credit for. He then concluded by saying that he probably wouldn’t convert because he didn’t like the idea of praying five times a day, though that could change if Western/Australian oppression continued.
