Frank furedi expresses surprise that people do not much like Israel and suggests a number of implausible reasons for doing so. May I suggest that civilised people everywhere are sickened by the constant need of the Israeli State to invade,kill, imprison, impoverish and humiliate their neighbours. Ttwo years ago, Israel went into Lebanon and killed 1500 people. Before that there was the long series of murderous incursions by Ariel Sharon including the Sabra and Chatila massacres. Now it is Gazan’s turn. Israel has destroyed Gaza, turned it into an open air prison, destroyed the agriculture, so that all food has to come from outside. Israel holds the keys of the prison and decides how much food the inmates will eat. The people of Gaza have no rights – not even the right to life. Those that are still alive,are starving, maimed or living in the ruins of their houses. This is stupid racism by Israel. Have they learned nothing from their treatment by Hitler?
There will be no peace in the Middle East until Israel decides to live within its own borders.
Sooner or later, Israel will have to vacate the lands they occupy in Syris, Palestine and Lebanon. In short, when Israel behaves like any other civilised country.
