If you think for one minute Christian Copts in Egypt would put up with a gay pride parade in Tahrir Square you are mistaken. Culture in Egypt is being too broadly painted as emanating from Islam only and in fact much of it is simply naked conservatism in which the Copts whole-heartedly share.

Remember, Muslims are not the only ones to ever practice gender segregation: Catholics churches in Central Minnesota in 1965 had women on one side and men on the other and would laugh when the city boy made a mistake and sat in the wrong side and gender segregation is an ongoing problem in Israel today.
