When Cardinal Ratzinger was elected Pope, and Time Magazine (I think) wrote about him, there were words about St. Benedict.
He opened a school at about the same time as Plato’s Academy, or Aristotle’s Lyceum, closed.
Expecting the US to continue to lead the way to comfort the afflicted wherever there are dissidents, is looking like trying to herd cats.
