While I am concerned about the Islamist persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, and while I am even more concerned about the on-going persecution of the Baha’is in Egypt, where they are prevented from even having government ID’s unless they are prepared to lie about their religion. Government ID’s have the options only of Moslem, Jew or Christian. Baha’is, Buddhists, Hindu’s, Jain, Sikh and atheists need not apply.
But as many other posters have pointed out, it’s not our job. I will individually support the Egyptian Baha’is, but I don’t expect my government to do so. It’s an entirely appropriate place for independent non-governmental organizations.
