Those of you arguing in favor of cutting the funding in the name of fiscal responsibility in these hard economic times are missing the point of the article, imo. If it was Jim DeMint who was holding up the funding then I might buy the idea that it was for fiscal reasons. But we know that Durbin doesn’t share our views on fiscal responsibility. He’s happy to spend, spend, spend! So the issue here is: what is Durbin’s motive?
