Pro-Joe: Plumber’s Trip to Israel Scares the Establishment Media
Whatever you may think, people identify with Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin—especially everyday regular folks. Now I can’t say Palin and Wurzelbacher in the same breath— that’s because they each were involved in two totally separate scenarios. Palin was running as McCain’s running mate— Wurzelbacher was just a guy who questioned Obama with a very direct question—he had no political aspirations. One may argue that the GOP used them for what it might have thought would be “tactical benefit”–maybe so, but that’s not the point. So what if Joe is into some self promotion. A news outlet would love to have a person they feel strikes a chord with their readership. Wurzelbacher definitely fits the bill here. The only criticism I might have would be Joe’s possible lack of knowledge concerning military weapons—but I am sure the IDF could inform him what’s what (if he gets to do direct military reporting.) I am sure Christiane Amanpour doesn’t know all that much about weaponry either–but she fits the bill for an elitist audience with her uppity British accent and her exotic South Asian looks—Christiane, I’d love you doing a Birmingham accent instead.
Joe, maybe you might get to fix a toilet or two in Gaza—but what the heck would you be paid with?—tickets to the latest stoning or beheading?
