AlexinCT is confusing a direct-ascent ASAT (clearly demonstrated by the Chinese two years ago) with a co-orbital ASAT (for which there is no clear evidence of development by the Chinese). A direct-ascent ASAT, moreover, would not be effective against spacecraft in MEO (GPS) or GEO (communications).
