There is some sense in Obama not pontificating on all issues, even big ones.
Take for example the Israeli Gaza incursion. If it goes well then he can say once inaugurated that he had supported Bush’s and the Israeli stance and he gets points. If it goes poorly has an opportunity to renounce it and say he couldn’t do anything while he wasn’t president. He then can propose a solution which might be better simply because there will be more facts in hand come Jan 21.
He has nothing to gain by weighing in early when it is not on his watch.
How will he govern? Seems like from the left when it comes to financial and social issues and the center on defense. We’ll know more soon. I personally would rather get a well laid out plan later than some half-baked statement now.
