“racially insensitive”

What does it mean to be “insensitive?” This nebulous term is open to abuse. Should our social mores be dictated by those who are too easily hurt—or cynically seeking a way to intimidate those who disagree with them? Ron Radosh has pointed out that members of the American Communist Party some sixty years ago employed such tactics to eliminate competitors from the top positions. One could find themselves attacked for uttering phrases like black-ball or white-wash. Thing have only gotten worse since then.
