Written like a true left wing Democrat, looking back with nostalgia on the years of Slick Willie and the bonanza of other people’s money that used to fund the budding Nanny State. Pure agitprop.
I was an adult in 1976 and Carter was the antithesis of Ronnie, and not just because of taxes and a distrust of big government. Carter was the best candidate the Democrats could field and he demonstrated the failed will of the rest of his party for 4 years.
I wish the goddamned Republican party still had a Ronnie Reagan in it.
