Cambridge, Massachusetts is a very liberal area of the United States. Its middle class citizens are also leaving in droves. The population lost in Massachusetts in the last few years has been staggering. Perhaps the “elites” are subconsciously sensing that the situation has to be reversed. Being nice to members of the military might be a way for them to display a lessening hostility toward patriotic values. Ronald Reagan won the electoral votes of Massachusetts by over a million votes in each of his presidential runs. Might a Republican win in 2008—especially if he were the former governor or even lives close by in New York City?
