His first book, Audacity, starts with an anecdote of living in a poor section of Manhattan and resisting the rich white people who bring their dogs to his neighborhood to defecate. The only problem is that he did not live in Harlem but on the border in a white neighborhood, rich white people don’t walk their dogs to poor people’s neighborhoods, and this metaphor of fighting for poor or minority people is baloney. But maybe his perception of white people as the enemy because they shit on minority people is what he really believes.
