I have lived in Spain (many years ago) and visited several times thereafter and, as a Jewish American, it always amazed me how Jewish so many people seemed. Sometimes I thought almost everyone was from a converso family, as your study indicates. But many… like the sleazy Zapatero… always seemed to be running from it. So it goes.
