I wonder if Obamarama knows of the continuous, multi-millenial involvement, as both sellers and buyers, of muslims in the African slave trade. It is not just a historic european/american problem. At least the British squashed much of the slave trade – see The River War for Churchill’s account of how that was part of the war against the Mahdi in Sudan. We all know what price the US paid to end slavery and how discrimination has been defeated over the last 60 years here. What have islamic leaders ever done to renounce their history and current slavery in so much of modern Dar al Islam? Nothing.
