“Narcissism” is a word that keeps coming up regarding Obama and many other candidates of both major parties. Could it be that the Senate fosters this trait? (That’s a trick question — of course it does: “the world’s most select club.”) How about a constitutional amendment to prevent any senator from being nominated for the presidency? Being a Senator, after all, hardly develops executive ability — it just helps build huge campaign chests. The result of such an amendment would be to make the upper chamber a deadend job — and perhaps stop attracting wannabe presidents to it. F
