Anna, you are absolutely right. I was particularly offended by Carville’s response on Blitzer’s segment – it was appalling for him to suggest that women concerned about the cutout need mental health care. I heard him say it and I couldn’t believe it. I think all of the idiots on CNN need to read some Mary Daly on patriarchy. Our culture is permeated with a permissive attitude towards violence against women. Every day a woman is abused simply because of a man’s whim, appetite, or irrational anger. Favreau lampooned it when he groped a cutout while holding the head of the image and his buddy tipped the beer to the mouth of the image. Is it really that different from violent pornographic images that serial killers use to build their fantasies before torturing and killing? Favreau may never commit a crime, but he participated in the disrespect towards women that is the foundation of every violent act against a woman based on her gender. And our President Elect has demonstrated that he does not care. It’s not about being a Democrat – it’s much bigger. It’s about how our culture sees women.

Thank you, Pajamas Media.
