The shortages of staples will prove decisive if history serves as a guide. Even the most economically and politically naive citizen understand that something has gone wrong when they cannot purchase staples.
I wonder what role the internet played in frustrating Chavez’s schemes? In the pre-internet day shutting down a TV station or a newspaper shutdown mass communication. Now days, it seems to provoke more discussion.
Let’s hope that democracy works to restrain Chavez. I fear he will chose not to go down without a fight.
