The conditions of what the west calls a crushing economic depression is what the mohammedan block calls normal living.

The mohammedan block is productively impotent. They seem to be incapable of inventing or producing things of value.

The western poor enjoy luxuries that the mojority of the mohammedan block will never be able to afford.

Without the western technologies and industries that produce the machines that use the oil, the western technologies and skills for getting the oil out of the ground, and the western economies that trade in the oil and its applications, the mohammedan block would be altogether impoverished.
The oil would sleep undiscovered and unused under the ground. The people, all the people, would be poorer than sub-saharan Africa.
By any reasonable standard, that oil is western property!
The local mohammedans are non-participants, bystanders.
That the mohammedans hold the oil hostage simply by walking around on top of it is purely accidental.
Why the west has chosen to pay ransom for the oil, rather than just asserting their right to it is also a foolish accident of history.
If the need for that oil is ever diminished, well, I think the likely results are pretty obvious …
And if taking the oil ever gets cheaper than paying the ransom, well …
