On the question of Israeli apathy. Yes, there is a lot of it going around. It is a defense mechanism born of continues failure. However, lower expectations are not all together bad – with lower expectations you have a higher chance for success, while at the same time minimal chance of cognitive dissonance occuring if the shit hits the fan (e.g. Oslo).
