What I hear from Israeli pundits – Alison, tell me if you agree – is that the conference is meaningless. Olmert has tied it to the road map, the Palestinians have never fulfilled their half of the road map. He has also tied it to ratification from various members of cabinet or the Knesset, that’s not going to happen either. The whole thing is a show to appease Condi, then everyone goes back to business as usual.
