I think Bush’s approval ratings say a great deal about how Americans have viewed his leadership. People like Dark Helmet are just wishful thinking portraying President Bush as a man of incredible vision and success (tho the supposed success will only occur far in the future). A majority of Americans now understand what a failure the Bush administration is. There is many things right about America but there were more things right about it before Bush came to office. The things Bush has done right are few and very far between and all the right things that conservatives can point to are debatable at best, meaning they are successes only through the viewpoint of Republicans. His leadership has been a complete comedy of errors, which would be funny if it wasn’t so sad. As for Bush being remembered as a great leader I would say he is more likely to be viewed as one of the worst presidents in the last 100 years (even below Carter).
