This article is hilarious. Not only because of its total disregard for the facts and context of what is going on but also for its assertion that Bush’s plan and vision is going great. First I would say that Bush’s vision outlined in this article is totally incorrect. The fact that we have to alter our reason for this war every year (from WMDs, to liberating the people, to countering Iran, to providing mideast stability) shows that Bush did not have a plan for Iraq beyond the initial invasion. The author’s assertion that the government in Iraq has a future show his lack of understanding of the legitimacy of any of Iraq’s current institutions. I love how we know characterize success in Iraq by the fact that we get to keep troops there for 50 years! Great! It will be just like Korea, only if the South Koreans hated us and the North Koreans were oil rich and Islamic. Thank god for George Bush, where would we and the middle east be without him? (not to mention the value of the dollar)
