I can agree that trying to turn school kids into secret police against their parents is presumptuous, and that *good* science tends to breed level heads and open minds instead of smug zealotry. But what the hell??
Most of the responses I see posted on here rail on against environmentalism as though caring about healthy ecology and taking care of the only planet we have to live on were a bad thing! Is it some conservative “party line” to *hate* the natural world, or is it just some hysterical reaction against anything that ‘ebil liberals’ espouse? If tomorrow Al Gore declared that the sun was round and hot, would you people be shrilling “nuh uh! it’s a cube of solid ice!” Is there some reason that you folk can’t endorse your fiscal conservatism and your small government and your conservative ‘morality’ and also give a crap about clean air and drinkable water and not turning the whole globe into a toxic landfill?
