I had a discussion with a friend at work (she’s a total Bush hater). She thinks that these conspiracy theories are a byproduct of the amount of distrust people have for GWB.
I think it’s a clear indicator of how awful our media is. I’ve seen several shows advertised on TV that explore conspiracy theories related to 9/11. Of course, non of these programs would ever dream of endorsing any of this garbage. It’s just something salacious to do a news story on. The effect, though, is that people start seeing this stuff on the History Channel and they start to think in a vague way that there must be something to the whole thing. Add to that all the crazies out there and it starts to get disturbing.
What the media has done, in effect, is a disservice to the victims of 9/11 and America as a whole.
