Some liberal debunkers use the incompetence argument quite often, in the form of “Wait a minute, you’re telling me the Bush administration is incompetent?” It’s a good little line but it doesn’t work for me because a) I don’t believe the Bush administration is incompetent and b) I don’t think the mistakes made that resulted in 9-11 reflected incompetence.
